Whole of Mine Management
DeltaSBD is responsible for the total operation of Boral’s Berrima Colliery.
Operations will be focused on development and pillar extraction, utilising breaker line supports.
Roadway Development and Support
DeltaSBD has extensive experience in the development of longwall gateroads and main headings development, with work currently being undertaken at Appin Colliery for BHP Billiton and Wongawilli for Gujarat NRE. Development will commence at Berrima Colliery for Boral in late September 2009.
Secondary Support and Specialist Mine Services
DeltaSBD has been actively involved at Appin Colliery for the past seven years, providing tailgate and maingate services retractions and secondary support, largely utilising 3 electro-hydraulic tracked drill rigs. Tailgate services have included pipe retractions, CH4 service recoveries, standing secondary support (tin cans, link and locks), installation of stone dust barriers and bulkabags. Maingate services have included pipe retractions, installation of tendon support (megabolts), and installation of monorail bolts and monorails services, seals and standing support (tin cans, link and locks).
DeltaSBD has also been involved at Metropolitan Colliery for the last five years installing all secondary support in the Longwall gateroads. A second electro-hydraulic tracked drill rig was recently introduced at the mine.

DeltaSBD is currently undertaking the following longwall block projects:
Ravensworth Underground
DeltaSBD has recently begun a major project at Xstrata’s Ravensworth Underground Mine in the Hunter Valley. The project comprises project management, labour and equipment hire and involves three phases:
• Longwall pre-installation
• Longwall recovery and transport
• Equipment transport to the surface
Integra Mine Longwall Relocation
DeltaSBD has recently commenced a major project at Vale’s Integra Mine in the Hunter Valley. The project comprises supervision and labour.
Broadmeadow Mine Longwall Relocation
DeltaSBD recently completed this major project at BMA’s Broadmeadow Mine in the Central Queensland. The project comprised supervision and labour.
Appin Colliery Longwall Relocation
DeltaSBD will be commencing this major project at BHPB’s Appin Colliery in the Illawarra district of southern NSW in September 2009. The project comprises supervision, labour and one of our MH40 heavy lift vehicles.
